Carver Knowles are delighted to be supporting the Pershore and Upton upon Severn Branch of the NFU at their annual conference in the New Year. The Pershore Conference will be held at its usual venue at Pershore College on Thursday 24th January 2019.

As ever, NFU group secretary, Ray Foster-Morrison, has organised what promises to be an interesting event on this years theme ‘How to be a Farmer and Park Keeper’. The evening aims to provoke debate on how being a Farmer and Park Keeper can help make the best of opportunities to develop your business as well as attract support in a post-Brexit world.

The first speaker of the evening will be Adam Henson, well known Farmer and TV Presenter with his regular slot on BBC Countryfile. Adam has diversified his farming activities with his Cotswold Farm Park which he is currently in the process of expanding with the addition of a restaurant.

Adam Henson will be followed by the second speaker of the evening, Stuart Roberts, who is the NFU Vice President. Stuart has previously worked for DEFRA and the Food Standards Agency as well as being a third generation arable and livestock farmer in partnership with his wife and father on their Hertfordshire farm.

The final speaker of the evening is Geoff Sansome, Natural Englands Head of Agriculture. Geoff and his family are Worcestershire farmers and have been for over 200 years at their mixed farm in Hawford near Claines. He joined Natural England in 2010 following on from being an agronomist and environmentalist with ADAS. Geoff is a Nuffield Farming Scholar.

The evening will be concluded with questions from the floor hosted by the conference Chairman Clive Davies. Following which drinks will be served to allow further discussion with the speakers and the sponsors of the event.
