Carver Knowles are delighted to be supporting the Pershore and Upton upon Severn Branch of the NFU at their annual conference next week. The Pershore Conference will be held at its usual venue at Pershore College on Thursday 16th January 2020 at 7:30 pm.

Ray Foster Morrison, NFU group secretary, has as usual organised what promises to be an interesting and topical event on this years theme ‘Zero Carbon Farming’. The evening aims to provoke debate on ways to reduce our carbon footprint.

The first speaker of the evening will be Guy Smith NFU Deputy President who is an old friend of the Pershore Conference. Guy will be provoking debate on practical improvements that can be made to the way we farm whilst remaining profitable.

Guy Smith will be followed by Professor Robert Pickard who is a visiting professor at the Royal Agricultural University and Emeritus professor at the University if Cardiff. Robert provides scientific advice for the communications media, government and a variety of institutions.

The final speaker of the evening is Nuffield Scholar and Farm Manager at Overbury Enterprises, Jake Freestone. Jake will be talking us through farming practices that minimise the impact on the environment and hopefully providing practical advice on how we could reach the “Net Zero” target the industry has set itself.

The evening will be concluded with questions from the floor hosted by the conference Chairman Clive Davies. Following which drinks will be served to allow further discussion with the speakers and sponsors of the event.
