Venue: Pardon Hill Farm, Prescott, Gotherington, Cheltenham, Glos, GL52 9RD

Date: Thursday 12th April at 5.30pm – 7.00pm

The evening is aimed at farmers and landowners with Environmental Stewardship (ELS and HLS) agreements that are coming to an end in 2018 or for those farmers and landowners not currently in an agri-environment scheme who may be looking to enter one.

The workshop will cover the new “Streamlined” Mid-Tier elements of Countryside Stewardship as well as briefly discussing the conventional Mid-Tier Scheme and the additional options it offers over and above the “Streamlined” version. The topics covered will include:

  • How the Mid-Tier Scheme operates
  • The Management Options available
  • Eligibility and how to apply

Mark Davies of Green Farm Seeds will also be taking a look at the practicalities of growing Wild Bird Seed Mix and Pollen and Nectar Mix plots which are a key component of the Countryside Stewardship scheme. He will cover the following:

  • Choice of Plot Location
  • Ground Preparation
  • Seed Mix choice
  • Ongoing Plot Management

There will be the opportunity to speak to the Carver Knowles team and Mark after the event to assist with any farm specific enquiries and how we might be able to help get a scheme in place.

Light refreshments will be provided.
